1937 Franz Vasicek founded the company ‘Garage Riesbach AG'.
1937 The company expanded into the field of car park exploitation, and since then it has operated the Utoquai, Zürichhorn, Bleicherweg, Talgarten and Kongresshaus car parks in Zurich.
1969 The first counters for car rental business were opened on the Lindenstrasse in the Seefeld District in Zurich and at the Zurich-Kloten Airport. They initially operated under a license from Tilden, which was followed by National Car Rental and then Kemwel.
1988 Riesbach AG took over the Budget license and started building up an extensive location network.
1994 Careal Holding purchased Riesbach AG and integrated it into its AMAG Group.
1996 Riesbach AG took over the license from Europcar.
2000 Riesbach AG was renamed ‘AMAG Services AG'. This step underscored the connection to AMAG.
2006 Eurazeo, a French investment company, acquired 100% of Volkswagen AG's Europcar share capital.
